Award winning Videographer Calvin B. De Mond has spent years sharpening his creative and technical skills.
A third generation printer, he grew up working in the family's commercial printing business, Imperial Press. He worked as a Letterpress and Offset Pressman, and as a markup and layout artist. He was responsible for implementing computers into the operation for producing camera ready copy and typsetting.
The love of videography started in high school, where he was exposed to the world of video production. In college Calvin gravitated towards theatrical and television productions and eventually broadcasting. Over the years he has held positions at several television stations and production companies in the New York area. His skills and expertise have been used on commercials, industrials and documentaries, and promotional videos for the health and beauty industry.
Calvin B. De Mond achieved a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the New York Institute of Technology and a Liberal Arts degree from Orange County Community College. He has taken additional training on the Steadi-Cam and the Ampex ADO.
He has received numerous awards during his career, including a recent Emmy Award in Television News, along with several Emmy nominations. In 2001 he and his colleagues received the Peabody Award for "Coverage of September 11, 2001". He is listed in Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in Entertainment and Men of Achievement. His awards include the Silver at the International Film & Television Festival of New York, Gold and Bronze at the Houston International Film Festival.
Calvin continues to work in television broadcasting as a ENG Camera Operator, Non-Linear Editor and Satellite/Microwave Technician in televsion news.
